The historic 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season opened with three rounds in the NRG Stadium in Houston, Tx. This season marks the first time in over 25 years that Supercross did not debut in Southern California, and the first time ever including Tuesday races.
Kevin Moranz #85 was the sole TPJ Racing team rider in Houston competing in the 250SX East Coast Series.
Houston #1: Kevin Moranz came into H1 with a contagious enthusiasm and a desire to prove he has what it takes to compete on the world’s biggest stage with the fastest riders around. He continued to gain speed throughout the day and in his heat race and went on to secured a 10th place finish in the main. A top 10 finish is phenomenal but for Kevin this is just the start.
Houston #2: Kevin qualified well during the day (16th place) but missed transferring to the main by one position. In the LCQ he had one of the first bikes to cross the Holeshot line. He was leading until a slight mishap and crash causes him to fall back. Kevin missed the night show at H2 but did not let that slow him down going into round 3.
Houston #3: If you did not know who Kevin Moranz was yet, you certainly did after his performance at H3. Once again, he missed a direct transfer into the Main Event by 1 position. He lined up for the LCQ, and this time when he took the lead, he refused to let it go. Kevin won the LCQ and went on to secure a 9th place finish in the Main Event!
Team TPJ Racing would like to thank all of our sponsors for their continued support.
