Privateer’s of the Past – Jason Thomas – Unadilla 2007

Here’s a little flashback to 2007 and the Unadilla National Motocross in New Berlin, NY. This post features Butler Brothers MX Racer Jason Thomas on the Honda CRF450. One thing you’ll notice is Jason’s gear. Fly Racing. All these years later, he’s still wearing Fly and working for them and WPS among other projects in the motocross world. He’s a regular on PulpMX and RacerX podcasts as well as his own Podcast, Industry Seating. He’s raced all over the world and made a living as a privateer hustling for the next gate drop.

These images are from the 450 class at Unadilla on July 15, 2007. JT finished 15-11 for 12th overall. One other thing to note is the camera on top of his helmet. Before GoPros there were contraptions like this that were used for TV coverage. I don’t know the details of this particular one, maybe JT can fill us in.
