January 15, 2022 – Oakland, California
The second round of the Monster Energy Supercross series just happened to be Colby’s hometown race. Hometown races are always extra special with family and friends cheering you on, but there is an added pressure to it as well.
Colby Copp #645 showed up ready for some Main Event action, but a frustrating qualifying position and small crashes ended his night early. Here’s what he had to say. “Oakland was a great time for me seeing all my friends and family at the races and had so many fans yelling my for me it was awesome! Didn’t qualify the best but heat1 I put myself in a really good spot battling for a transfer position and tucked the front going for a pass, LCQ had a bad start and just got stuck in a bad place. I showed some great speed being in the mix just need to keep getting better and moving up weekend by weekend!”
