FMF PRIVATEER POWER AWARD: 2022 BUDDS CREEK NATIONAL

With the support of AEO Powersports KTM, Derek Kelley has enjoyed his best Pro Motocross season to date, sitting solidly inside the top 15 of the 250 Class standings in what has become a heated battle between he and his teammate Josh Varize. Kelley has been on the cusp of the top-10 all summer and that trend continued at the GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National where Kelley parlayed a pair of top-15 starts into strong 15-11 finishes that, coincidentally, left him tied with Varize for 11th overall after his teammate posted identical scores. It was ultimately a three-way tie for the position that also included Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jalek Swoll, who earned the position via tiebreaker, which placed Kelley in 12th and earned the California native his second FMF Privateer Power Award of the season.

Budds Creek National:
#74 Derek Kelley / Riverside, California / KTM
250 Class: 12th overall (15-11)
