One of the most well known and fastest privateer riders on the East Coast, Connecticut native Chris Canning is one of the sport’s most heralded underdog riders and following an impressive come-from-behind effort in the second moto at the Parts Unlimited Unadilla National it’s easy to see why. The GASGAS rider found himself mired deep in the field to open 450 Class Moto 2, where a difficult start left him in 35th place at the conclusion of the opening lap. Canning then went to work and put his head down in a relentless charge forward that saw him pass 16 riders en route to a 19th-place finish, which provided some well-earned AMA points. It capped off an afternoon in which Canning earned points both motos, with 17-19 finishes that landed him 19th overall and a second moto ride that earned him RC Hard Charger honors.
