The 250SX East Coast Series kicked off with its inaugural event at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The TPJ Racing crew is proud to have Logan Boye #119 and Garrett Hoffman #242 on the team for the season.
Fifty-five 250SX riders showed up to make their mark on the East Coast series; Garrett Hoffman was one of the lucky 40 who advanced to the night show. He qualified 38th overall. He struggled out of the gate in Heat 1 and quickly fell to the back of the pack; a last-minute charge moved him into a final position of 17th. In the LCQ, he got a much better launch of the start and was comfortably sitting mid-pack; he ultimately finished 12th. In his words, “H town baby! Super sick racing in a stadium again it’s been a while for me, but I had a blast. Most definitely have some improvements to make but I’m ready to dig. Thank you to everyone helping me out.”
Logan Boye #119 liked the simplistic track layout in Houston and rode well during qualifying; but just missed the mark for the night show by 1.22 seconds. He knows what he needs to work on this week to be ready to make the night show in Tampa this weekend.
Austin Cozadd #512 has continued to use his training during the week to focus on his health and endurance. He’s feeling stronger and looking faster on the bike; he just needs to string together one solid fast lap during qualifying so he can make his first night show of the year. Austin qualified 45th overall in Houston.
