TPJ Racing – Pro Motocross – Round 1

PALA, CALIFORNIA | MAY 27, 2023 | FOX RACEWAY AT PALA

After a short one-week hiatus, racing is back with the launch of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship at Fox Raceway in Southern California.  Pro Motocross is a grueling 11 round series at some of the toughest natural tracks in the United States.

Each race weekend includes two 15-minute practice/qualifying sessions, a 5-minute start practice, one consolation race (for riders who qualify 37th or higher) and two 30-minute plus 2 lap motos.  Pro Motocross, also known as the Great Outdoors is not for the faint of heart; it takes rigorous training and determination to conquer each track, let alone the competition.  Strap in and join us on our journey this season.

The TPJ Racing team will comprise of two 450MX riders and three 250MX riders this season.  Romain Pape #444 will lead the team in the 450MX class; while Trevor Schmidt #746, Brian “JR” Saunier #971, Hunter Cross #702 and Logan Boye #119 will compete in the 250MX class.

The Pala national is one of the newest tracks on the circuit; but has quickly become a fan and rider favorite.  This track is open to the public most of the year; providing Southern California based racers with a great practice facility; and allowing fans the opportunity to ride where the biggest stars do.

Hunter Cross sat out this first round to allow more time for past injuries to heal.  Trevor Schmidt, Logan Boye and Brian JR Saunier finished their day with the consolation race finishing 6th, 12th and 27th respectively.  Romain Pape qualified an impressive 14th overall and took home 5 series points at the end of the day with a 19th overall.

In their words:

Romain Pape #444: “A good introduction to my objectives.  I tasted a little too much ground for me to score in both rounds, but the main thing is that I’m in! We’re going to have a great summer the atmosphere is great.”

Brian “JR” Saunier #971: “Update // ended up getting ran over at the 1st round of Pro Motocross at Fox Raceway.  Broken 4 traversal processors in my lower back and a rib.  Hopefully be back for High Point if not definitely for Red Bud!”

Thank you to our amazing team of sponsors who support our riders on their Professional Journey!
