As the Gizmo Mods/Rock River/Yamaha team arrived at Gillette Stadium, both crew members and athletes of the racing assembly were eager to begin competitive action for this round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. The team had improved in a multitude of areas over the off-weekend and proceeded to display exceptional traits throughout the course of events on Saturday.
Marshal Weltin had steadily risen to the highest tier of competition within the 250SX East Coast Championship, and sustained an equivalent sense of speed as the green flag waved for practice in Massachusetts. Eventually qualifying into the night show with a notable gate choice, his display of sprint-speed in heat two was remarkable as he weaved throughout the challenging raceway. Ultimately gathering a standing of eighth, his initiation to the main event that followed was one in which the fans applauded. The Michigan native constantly fought forward to gather the highest position possible, and as the checkered flag waved, he was solidified in ninth-place, respectively.
Devin Simonson continued to compete at the pinnacle of the sport while stationed in Foxborough. Competing in the 450SX division for this weekend in April, Simonson confidently arrived at the starting line for heat two after generating an array of notable lap-times in practice. As the gate(s) then fell, Simonson’s ambition was tremendous and led to him an eventual standing of tenth as action ceased. The LCQ wasn’t long thereafter, and the rider aboard the number ninety-one machine immediately stormed forward with immense determination. Ultimately earning a standing of third, he would move ahead to the main event, where he battled for the entirety of the twenty-one-minute contest. Eventually earning a hard-fought position of twenty seconds, his display of skills in Massachusetts was certainly categorized as commendable.
Grant Harlan, aboard the number twenty-three machine, was a member of the 450SX division who displayed immense promise throughout the various qualification rounds. He was proficient in every aspect of the course, and sped into heat one with belief that he could compete alongside the best in the class. Once the green flag waved, he leapt through rhythm lanes and over the finish line with incredible velocities — battling from start to finish to acquire a standing of fourteenth as competition was finalized. For the Last Chance Qualifier, Harlan’s awareness and ability to make passes within the opening moments was commendable. He put forth his strongest effort, and raced to the checkered flag to earn a standing of seventh, respectively.
The number 116 of TJ Albright was moving forward with tremendous display(s) of momentum amongst qualification sessions on Saturday afternoon. And after immediately transferring to that of heat two the will to succeed for the New York native was evident as he swept through corners with immense focus. Eventually securing a final result of twelfth, his initiation to the LCQ that followed was one that generated applause from the crowd. Though there was little room for error on this demanding racetrack, Albright moved forward with fearlessness obtaining a notable score of eighth as all was finalized.
Ryan Breece had generated a stellar season thus far, and continued on a superb trajectory while racing in Foxborough. After displaying a well-respected pace in qualification, he moved forward to heat two where he battled with world-renowned athletes from around the globe. Racing through the sand section and other demanding portions of the raceway with expertise, he would unfortunately encounter a bit of misfortune en route to a nineteenth-place in the final standings — though it was undeniable, the rider from Idaho possessed elite skills that were paralleled to those atop the division.
Keegan Rowley continued to further his skillset on the SX course while competing in Foxborough, with the Illinois native attacking every portion of the racecourse aboard his Yamaha machine with the highest effort. He’s consistently rose to higher standing(s) amongst the leaderboard, and will maintain that ascension throughout the rest of the championship.
Iowa’s Jaxen Driskell embarked on the Supercross Future’s Championship once more, for that of competition in Gillette Stadium. After navigating through practice with distinguished maneuvering, his outlook for the main event would follow with immense positivity. Conquering the largest of jumps with confidence, Driskell raced in front of thousands of fans to eventually occupy a standing of thirteenth, before exiting the raceway with a tremendous sense of accomplishment.
With round thirteen of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship now completed, the Gizmo Mods/Rock River/Yamaha team will now make their way to Nashville, Tennessee. The fourteenth stop on the tour is certain to present a demanding racetrack, with all members of this Yamaha assembly destined to excel while competing within Music City.
