After traveling across the country to arrive in Pennsylvania, the entirety of the Gizmo Mods/Rock River/Yamaha team appeared eager to compete upon the legendary High Point MX circuit. This course would offer an array of challenges to both athletes and crew members, but all involved with the Yamaha assembly were prepared to succeed as the checkered flag was thrown.
Texas’ Grant Harlan was remarkable throughout 450MX practice(s), and raced within the opening laps of both moto’s with incredible intensity. The athlete aboard the number twenty-three machine put forth top-tier speed, en route to earning eventual moto scores of (twelfth and fourteenth), for a hard-fought eleventh-place overall, respectively.
The number seventy-five of Marshal Weltin had continuously ascended throughout the 2024 MX Championship thus far. And the Michigan native sustained that trajectory, among both motos of competition at High Point. Battling from start to finish for each race in the afternoon program, the Michigan native would strive en route to results of (eighteenth and twelfth), to receive thirteenth in the final 450MX standings.
Pennsylvania’s own, Bryce Shelly, thrived among cheers from the crowd as practice began on Saturday for the 450MX division. He instantly analyzed the Pennsylvania circuit, and qualified for the two-moto main event format with immense self-belief. From beginning to end in both of the aforementioned final races, Shelly persevered through challenging variables — earning scores of (twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth) for twenty-sixth overall on the day.
Crockett Myers was exceptional on Saturday as he carved through the various ruts of the High Point MX venue, and the rider out of Texas carried a commendable sense of speed into both moto’s of the main event program that followed. Racing his way to final finishes of (twentieth and thirty-ninth) within the pinnacle of two-wheeled competition, Myers’ outlook for the rest of the series appeared extremely positive in the 250MX class after earning twenty-third overall in Mount Morris.
Illinois’ Keegan Rowley displayed speed in the state of Pennsylvania that was elite, and carried him into the 250MX Last Chance Qualifier with a notable gate choice, prior to the green flag waving. Once battling among the four-lap sprint, Rowley strove forward with determination through the final circuit, to collect a final finish of twelfth as action concluded.
The number 401 of Blake Gardner brought his talents to the racetrack in the town of Mount Morris, and after acclimating to the demanding conditions of practice, the athlete from California made quick passes and established himself as a contender amid the 250MX LCQ. Ultimately finishing twenty-second, Gardner is now looking ahead to the fifth round of the series.
Florida’s Colton Eigenmann was proficient through all 450MX qualification sessions, and shifted into gear for the Last Chance Qualifier with relentless intensity. He was superb in locating the quickest pathways upon the Pennsylvania hillside, and accelerated to an eventual well-respected finish of fifteenth as engines ceased.
With the fourth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship now concluded, the Gizmo Mods/ Rock River/Yamaha team is set to conquer the fifth venue of the tour in the coming weeks. Racing will take place in Southwick, Massachusetts next, and all involved with this Yamaha assembly are destined to thrive in the sand(s) of the Northeast.
