I went to Oak Hill in North Texas, a legendary motocross race facility that’s been around since the 70’s. Vernon Mackiddie built this new Pro Track on the grounds in an area that once was dedicated to UTV racing, a showing of commitment by new ownership that they’re all in on motocross. Make no mistake about it, this track is not for beginners or old guys. This is a training tack – intentionally built with the notion that you’re going to pull off the track absolutely exhausted. Vmac did a great job with his build, and I really enjoyed how deep the prep job was. I tried a new gearing setup, and found that it was NOT the choice for a track of this size. A lot of the obstacles were exactly where 3rd gear runs out, but not quite where 4th was warranted. I made notes, and will come back with a different ratio.
