Both Freddie & Keegan came into Round 3 with having a very good week on the bike. Each had made minor adjustments to the chassis to find that little extra comfort. They finished the first qualifying sessions really well on a wet & rutted track. Both had posted respectable lap times that kept bettering their personal bests each time around.
Going into the second session the team made a change to Freddie’s shock. He went out & really adapted to the change well posting fast times & having the confidence to jump all the fat rhymes, finishing 23rd overall in qualifying. Keegan left his bike alone after the change he made during the week to the chassis, his confidence is very strong & when he went out for the second qualifier, the track conditions had changed drastically. The track went from soft & rutted in Q1 to a hard & fast surface in Q2. That loss of technicality in the track had taken Keegan’s advantage away from the competition. He did all he could & with times so close, he was able to Qualify 38th.
Come race time both guys were ready to go, motivated to get into their first Main Event of the year. However, starts were their kryptonite! Both guys were crafty racing their way through the pack in the Heat & LCQ, but time had run out before they were in Main Event transfer spots. The key takeaway from the weekend is the amount of progress the Racers & Team has made in 3 short races. Confidence is building & now our Racer’s believe they are only a start away!
Freddie Noren #63
“Team did a great job this week and I’m thankful to have them in my corner. I’m bummed to not bein the Main Event, but my speed is there. I just need to clean up my starts and I’ll be in the Mains.”, said Freddie after the night.
Keegan Rowley #900
Keegan has this to say after his night; “Pretty happy with the night. I had good speed in the Heat, but a bad start in the LCQ made it hard. Overall, still happy with my progress so far.”
