Round 16 of the AMA Supercross Series brought the AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team to the mile-high city of Denver, where Carson Mumford represented the team as its sole rider, lining up fresh off a minor surgery and ready to fight.

Mumford showed determination from the outset, putting together a strong qualifying performance. He secured 9th overall in combined times, making a significant improvement between sessions by dropping his lap time from a 55.337 in the first session to an impressive 52.829 in the second.

In the heat race, Mumford launched off the gate with an excellent start, immediately placing himself in contention. By the end of the opening lap, he had already worked his way into 4th position. Demonstrating consistency and control, he maintained that position for all five laps, finishing a solid 4th and transferring directly to the main event.

The main event presented a tougher challenge. Mumford did not get the start he needed and found himself in 19th place on the opening lap. Undeterred, he put his head down and charged through the field. With strong pace and consistently fast lap times in the first half of the race, he climbed his way up to 10th by the halfway mark.

Continuing to push, Mumford advanced into 8th position, showing impressive resilience and speed. However, as the race wore on, fatigue began to take its toll. Despite his efforts to maintain intensity, he ultimately slipped back four positions in the closing stages, crossing the finish line in 12th place.

Mumford’s ride still marked a notable effort, gaining a total of seven positions from start to finish. The performance highlighted his ability to move forward through the pack and demonstrated competitive speed, while also identifying endurance and late-race intensity as areas to build on as the team prepares for the upcoming outdoor season.

With just one round remaining, the series now heads to Salt Lake City for the final East/West Showdown. The AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team looks to finish the Supercross season strong and carry momentum into the next chapter.
