AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team – Race Recap – Glendale SX

Words from AEO Powersports – Imaged by Michael Lindsay/Vital MX

The AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team came out to give a great show in Glendale with it being the home town race for the AEO Powersports family demonstrating heart, determination, and steady progress

Qualifying:
Carson Mumford: 11th – 58.837
Avery Long: 14th – 59.487
Kyle Wise: 32nd – 1:02.690

Carson Mumford
Carson battled through adversity and proved his drive throughout the weekend. Throughout both qualifying sessions, Mumford showed strong pace landing a solid 11th-fastest qualifying time among a deep 250SMX field, a testament to his speed and technical ability despite being still a bit under the weather coming into the weekend. In his heat race, Mumford rode aggressively and smart, proving his grit and ability to contend with the pack resulting in a 5th in Heat #2, but early in the main event he collided with another rider and it was a tough rebound and he concluded the race in 19th.

Avery Long
Avery looked much more like himself on track over the weekend, carrying momentum through practice into qualifying. He did his job in placing himself in the Heat #1 and claimed 4th place, showing a positive sign of pace and forward. In the Main Event, Avery had a decent jump of the gate placing him right outside the top 10. He continued to bounce from just within the top 10 for the total 17 lap Main Event and saw checkers in 9th place position.

Kyle Wise
Fresh off injury and adjusting back to the saddle and into Supercross, Kyle Wise demonstrated composure and courage in his first major outing with only about two weeks of seat time on the bike. Wise did not advance to the Main Event, but his weekend was highlighted by positive strides in adapting to race speed, comfortability on the bike, and track conditions. AEO Powersports KTM Team management praised his attitude as he is ready to soak up experience and knowledge at each upcoming weekend.

The AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team is taking the performance and lessons from Glendale into future rounds of the SuperMotocross World Championship series, expecting to build on speed, consistency, and team cohesion as the season continues.
