Ryder had a strong qualifying session, finishing 15th overall in the East timing and 25th overall between all East/West riders. This put him straight into the night show with an opportunity to race through the Heat and LCQ for a spot in the Main Event.
In Heat 1, Ryder chose the far inside gate. Unfortunately, this resulted in a difficult start, leaving him near the back of the pack after the first turn. He managed to work his way up to 16th before running out of time, which sent us to the LCQ.
For the LCQ, he attempted a more outside gate position. However, he again faced a lot of congestion in the first turn. Although the start was not ideal, Ryder showed great speed and determination as he pushed through the pack. A couple of mistakes in the large rhythm section ultimately cost him, and he finished in 12th place.
Our spirits remain high as we head into Detroit. We are pushing hard to make the Main Events, and we know Ryder is more than capable of achieving that goal.
