From ISRT Kawasaki
The hometown round of the AMA Supercross Championship brought a meaningful weekend for ISRT Kawasaki, Vince Friese, and primary partner Jack Price Construction LLC, but the night ultimately proved to be a challenging one on a demanding track.
For Friese, the St. Louis stop has always carried extra significance. Rewinding back to 1999, a young Friese lined up for the KTM 50 SX Challenge and captured the win, marking an early milestone in what would become a long and resilient professional career. Fast forward 27 years, and the Missouri native made his 136th career 450SX start, including his seventh premier class start in St. Louis—an incredible testament to longevity and consistency. Friese now sits 18th all-time in 450SX career main event starts. While the homecoming atmosphere brought energy and support for both rider and team, the day’s results didn’t reflect the potential. Friese was forced to qualify through the LCQ, where he successfully secured a transfer position into the night’s main event.
In the main event, Friese launched to a strong top-10 start, putting himself in a solid position early. However, momentum shifted after a stall cost him valuable track position. Despite regrouping and beginning to push forward, the deteriorating and rut-filled track conditions proved unforgiving. An on-track incident over a small jump resulted in contact with another rider, sending Friese to the ground. Determined to finish in front of his hometown crowd, Friese remounted and continued for several laps. Ultimately, the combination of soreness from the crash and damage to the motorcycle made it too difficult to complete the race.
The silver lining for the ISRT Kawasaki team is that Friese escaped the incident without injury. With their focus now shifting forward, both rider and team remain motivated to rebound and build momentum heading into Round 13 in Nashville.
ISRT Kawasaki extends its appreciation to hometown supporters and to Jack Price Construction LLC for their continued partnership and support during a special weekend for the program.
