ISRT Kawasaki Battles Cleveland Conditions

From ISRT Kawasaki

ISRT Kawasaki rolled into Round 14 of the 2026 Supercross season in Cleveland, Ohio, for a highly anticipated return to the city—marking three decades since the sport last competed there. Partnering with Wössner Pistons for the weekend, the team was proud to represent a brand known worldwide for high-quality piston and connecting rod components across both two- and four-wheel performance engines. With Wössner’s U.S. headquarters based in the Cleveland area, the event carried added significance as ISRT hosted the brand on their home turf.

Leading into the weekend, weather forecasts suggested a potential mud race, with heavy rain predicted throughout the week. Combined with the third and final Triple Crown format of the 2026 season—where three main events and tight turnaround times demand peak efficiency from the crew—ISRT prepared for all conditions. The team also took advantage of the Triple Crown rule allowing two bikes through technical inspection, ensuring they were ready for whatever Mother Nature had in store.

Fortunately, conditions held steady through the morning, with only light showers impacting the second and third main events—far less severe than anticipated.

Vince Friese put in a strong performance from the outset, qualifying directly into the night show through his lap times. In the opening main event, Friese launched off the gate and powered into turn one in second position, alongside series points leader Hunter Lawrence. Battling through all three main events against the sport’s top talent, Friese positioned himself for a strong overall result, even finding himself in contention for a top-15 finish alongside multi-time world champion Jorge Prado.

In the final main event, as the track conditions became increasingly slick, Friese suffered a crash while pushing to secure that position. Despite the setback, he would finish 16th overall on the night, maintaining 18th in the championship standings. With Cleveland in the rearview, ISRT Kawasaki now sets its sights on Philadelphia for a return to the standard race format. With three rounds remaining in the 2026 Supercross season, the team is motivated and ready to capitalize on every opportunity as the championship draws to a close.
