What began as a late addition to the AEO Powersports roster heading into the 2026 season has quickly developed into a long-term partnership, as Carson Mumford and AEO Powersports have agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2028 and 2029 racing seasons. The new agreement comes only months after the team announced Mumford would return for 2027, further solidifying his place within the program as AEO prepares for another significant stage of growth in the years ahead. Mumford originally joined AEO in the closing hours of 2025, bringing together a rider looking for stability and a team continuing to establish itself within the SuperMotocross paddock. Over the months that followed, both sides have grown together. For Mumford, having the same people and program behind him has allowed his flashes of speed and potential to develop into more consistent performances.
For AEO, Mumford has become an important part of the team’s continued progression, providing a rider around whom the program can develop its equipment, personnel, and resources for the future. “When I first joined AEO, I don’t think either Jeremy or I really knew exactly where it would lead. I knew I needed a place where I could settle in, have some stability, and build instead of constantly starting over. That’s exactly what Jeremy and this team have given me. We’ve learned a lot about each other over the past ten or so months, and I feel like we’re still getting better together. To know where I’m going to be through 2029 is something I never really thought would even be a possibility in my career. I’m thankful to Jeremy and everyone involved with AEO for continuing to believe in me. This continuity becomes even more important as AEO prepares for the next evolution of its racing program. Since entering professional racing, the team has steadily expanded its technical resources, industry partnerships, and overall capabilities, with additional developments already underway for the coming seasons. While more announcements surrounding the future of AEO Powersports Racing will follow, securing Mumford long-term gives the team an established centerpiece to lead that progression both on and off the track. “When we first signed Carson, I said I felt like we could break the cycle he had been in and build something meaningful together. At the time, that meant giving him the stability and platform to show everyone what he could do. Now, less than a year into working together, we’ve already extended his original deal once for 2027 and are sitting here committing to another two years beyond that. I think that says a lot about how far this relationship has come and how much we believe in where it can go. Carson has become a huge part of this team, both on and off the track, and there’s a level of trust between all of us that you can’t build overnight. We know what he needs, he knows what we expect, and everyone involved is pulling in the same direction. Since its entrance into professional racing, AEO Powersports Racing has continued to grow from a dealership-backed effort built around KTM’s “Ready to Race” philosophy into an established presence in the SuperMotocross paddock. Each season has brought additional resources, stronger technical and industry partnerships, and new opportunities for the program to expand its capabilities while maintaining the rider-focused environment on which the team was founded.
