The 2026 SuperMotocross season has officially come to a close, and while the AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team was not in attendance for the final round in Ridgedale, Missouri, the team has plenty to celebrate following a season of significant progress and milestones.
For Carson Mumford, his first season with AEO Powersports KTM Racing proved to be a breakthrough year. After a strong Supercross campaign, Mumford found another level during the Pro Motocross Championship, earning his first career moto podium and the first Pro Motocross podium for AEO Powersports KTM Racing at Spring Creek with a third-place finish in Moto 2.
He continued that momentum throughout the summer, including a fourth overall at Washougal and an impressive weekend at Unadilla, where he qualified second overall and earned a third-place finish in Moto 1.
Mumford finished 12th in Supercross points and seventh in Pro Motocross points, both the best championship finishes of his career. He recorded nine top-10 finishes and numerous Hard Charger performances, including gaining 17 positions at Spring Creek and 15 at Red Bud.
Despite battling injury and illness throughout the season, Mumford continued to progress and has now re-signed with AEO Powersports KTM Racing on a multi-year contract.
Avery Long also showed flashes of speed throughout the season, highlighted by two top-10 finishes and several strong Hard Charger performances, including earning the first Hard Charger award at Red Bud after gaining 17 positions in Moto 1 and winning the LCQ at Seattle. An injury during the off season as the series swung to the East Coast interrupted his season, but Long continued to show his potential throughout the year.
At the conclusion of the 2026 season, Long will move on from AEO Powersports KTM Racing to pursue his next opportunity. The entire team thanks Avery for his commitment and effort and wishes him the very best in the next chapter of his racing career.
For AEO Powersports KTM Racing, 2026 was about progress, perseverance and proving what a determined privateer team can accomplish. Competing at the highest level without factory-level resources presents constant challenges, but the team continued to reach new milestones throughout the season.
Most importantly, none of it would be possible without the team’s sponsors and partners.
AEO Powersports KTM Racing extends its deepest gratitude to every sponsor, partner, crew member, family member and supporter who made the 2026 season possible. Their belief in the team continues to fuel the program and allows AEO Powersports KTM Racing to compete at the highest level.
With Mumford returning on a multi-year contract and another offseason of development ahead, AEO Powersports KTM Racing is already looking toward 2027.
