Over the span of almost five decades, Southern California’s FMF Racing has become synonymous with the sport of motocross, developing the finest motorcycle exhausts available in the marketplace. Over the course of its longstanding partnership with the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle racing series, FMF has remained committed to its support of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship by bringing much-needed and well-deserved attention to the underdog racers who fight tooth and nail each weekend as privateers, keeping the dream alive through any means necessary. As a result, the FMF Privateer Power Award has become an embodiment of what the brand stands for and what these lesser-known racers epitomize every time the gate drops.
After every round of the 2022 season, FMF and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will recognize a rider deserving of acknowledgement and celebration for his efforts on the track. Each selected rider will be praised for his ability to defy the odds and capture head-turning results, showing no intimidation as he battles alongside some of the sport’s biggest names in an incredibly deep field of world class talent featuring riders from across the globe.
Each recipient of the FMF Privateer Power Award will be given special recognition as part of the riders meeting at the following national and is awarded with a custom-designed trophy.
There’s nothing quite like getting one’s season off to a strong start and for BBMX KTM rider Fredrik Noren, that’s exactly what he succeeded at doing at the Honda Fox Raceway I National. Mere days after signing with the team to contest the summer, Noren’s wealth of experience paid big dividends en route to 14-11 moto scores that landed him 12th overall. When you take into consideration that the Swedish rider started his first moto of the season in dead last, 40th place, his performance becomes all the more impressive. That resilient nature has allowed Noren to amass a long, impressive career in the U.S. and makes him the perfect choice to kick off the 2022 recipients of the FMF Privateer Power Award.
