TPJ Racing – Southwick 2022

Round 6 – July 9, 2022

The historic racetrack, Southwick a.k.a.  The Wick 338, hosted round six of the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series. The Wick 338 has been hosting off-road racing of all kinds since 1973, and Pro Motocross on and off since 1976.  Known for its deep sand terrain and unique high-speed layout, this track often referred to as “the toughest track in America” truly separates the men from the boys.

With TPJ Racing Team rider Garrett Hoffman #242 and a few transport riders in tow, Ted Parks and team headed to New England to engage with local fans and get our team sponsors some valuable facetime.  Ted loves to promote those who support the team and every fan in attendance can feel the team presence.

Garrett Hoffman #242 had his best qualifying so far this season with a placement of 25th overall.  His best qualifying lap time of 2:20.285 was within 11.13 seconds of the 250MX classes fastest time.  After experiencing a rough near last start in Moto 1, he worked his way through the pack to finish in 24th. Still recovering from an ongoing leg injury, Garrett has been making progress each week on and off the track.  All the hard work paid off in Moto 2 where he got a top 15 start and was battling with the pack, unfortunately challenges with the bike slowed him down and he ended up 28th place finish.

In his words: “Southwick was a step in the right direction for sure!  Felt good to run with the big dogs Moto 2 but unfortunately a few bike issues holding me back from a good overall finish.  Regroup and come out for Millville strong!”.
