WE DID IT. The day started out solid I was in B practice and was the first one the track, was sitting P2 with a 2.18 time and overall 25th coming out of first practice. Felt even better in second practice and shaved my time down to a 2.16 and ended up qualifying 23rd which is the best I have done all year! I have been working the past 2 weeks on how to improve my qualifying because that is my biggest weakness. When I cant get a good gate pick and the start being pretty important it makes it for a difficult moto trying to make my way up. Moto 1 had a solid start and was sitting 17 for the first 6 laps and then I ended up crashing in the whoops and jamming my thumb and wrist pretty bad on my right hand. Got up in about 28th and salvaged a 24th. Wasn’t super pumped on that but thankful to finish that moto and have another opportunity in moto 2! Did not get the greatest jump in moto 2 and they red flagged it so we had another chance but that didn’t change much. Came around 1st lap in 27th but fought hard and made my way up to 18th. I’m pretty stoked to gain 3 points from this weekend really use this momentum going into Washougal and the following rounds. My plans are to do all the next rounds with Pala being questionable but I am trying to make it work! Cannot thank everyone enough for making the hometown race one to remember!
