AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team Race Recap – Round 11 – Budds Creek
It was the final round of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross series at Budds Creek and the whole AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team was ready to end the season on a high note. The weekend was interesting without a doubt with a red flag in both 250 motos which shook things up for not only the riders but team members as well. Despite some unfortunate luck for a number of the riders, the season ended with positives that could be pulled from the entire year.
Qualifying:
Avery: 27th – 2:00.414
Lux: 21st – 1:59.490
CJ: 34th – 2:02.287
Avery Long:
Moto 1: Avery didn’t have the best start in moto 1, and struggled a bit with his stamina throughout both motos. He came around on lap 1 in 25th and raced in/around this position for the entirety of the moto, finishing the race in 25th.
Moto 2: Avery had a better start in moto 2, coming around lap 1 in 18th after the restart, but unfortunately had issues with his stamina on the track and faded to 33rd. He was able to overtake a couple riders near the closing laps and finished 30th.
Lux Turner:
Moto 1: Lux was extremely determined to have a good finish in both motos this weekend to help secure his positioning in the SMX playoffs. He came around on lap 1 in 26th. He tried to push through the pack of riders, making moves by lap 7. He would unfortunately only overtake 5 positions and finish moto 1 in 21st.
Moto 2: Lux had a much better overall performance in moto 2. Before the red flag, he crashed in the first turn and was 38th on lap 1. After the restart, he would sit 32nd and come around in 28th on lap 4. He made great moves through his competitors, breaking out of the top 20 on lap 7 and continuing through the pack until he crossed the finish line in 16th.
CJ Bernerd:
Unfortunately, CJ had a hard crash in the second qualifying session where he suffered an injury to his hip that will require surgery in the next week. We would like to extend our support for our rookie rider during this time.
As we close out the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Season, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our sponsors who make it possible for us to go racing. Your support is the foundation of everything we do, and we’re incredibly grateful for your commitment throughout the year.
With 31 weekends of racing, it’s a long and grueling season. The demands on riders, staff, and equipment are intense, and we simply would not be able to perform at the level we do without the continued backing from our partners.
We also want to take a moment to highlight the incredible AEO Powersports Racing Team staff. These individuals dedicate their lives, give up their weekends, and make countless sacrifices to ensure our presence at every round. From setup to logistics to bike performance, their hard work behind the scenes keeps us running at the highest level.
