The AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team delivered its strongest performance of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship season this weekend at the Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota, highlighted by Carson Mumford earning the team’s first ever moto podium finish and best overall result to date. Teammate Avery Long also continued his impressive upward trajectory, recording his best overall finish in the Pro Motocross Championship.
The landmark weekend showcased the progress the team has built throughout the season, with both riders charging through the field in Moto 1 before delivering standout performances in Moto 2. The results reflect the dedication, preparation, and determination that have fueled the team’s continued growth in one of the sport’s most competitive championships.
Carson Mumford faced adversity from the start of Moto 1 after crossing the opening lap in 23rd position. Refusing to settle, Mumford put together an impressive charge through the field, passing 12 riders to finish 11th. His speed, racecraft, and relentless determination positioned him well heading into the second moto.
Avery Long experienced a similar challenge in the opening moto. After completing the first lap in 29th position, Long mounted one of the most impressive comeback rides of the race, advancing 17 positions to finish just behind his teammate. His grit and persistence demonstrated the confidence and momentum he has continued to build over the past several rounds.
Moto 2 proved to be a career defining race for Mumford and a milestone for the AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team.
Launching off the gate with a promising start, Mumford rounded the opening corner in eighth position before immediately going to work against the sport’s top factory riders. By Lap 3 he had climbed into fifth and continued applying pressure at the front of the field. On Lap 7, Mumford made the pass into P.3 and never looked back, defending the podium spot through the remainder of the moto despite constant pressure from riders behind him.
The third-place finish marked the first moto podium in AEO Powersports KTM Racing Team history and secured Mumford’s best overall finish of the season. The result also moved him up to eighth in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship standings.
Long continued his impressive day in Moto 2 despite another challenging start. Running 20th on the opening lap, he quickly found his rhythm and surged forward, climbing to 13th by Lap 6 before making one final charge in the closing laps to secure 12th place. Combined with his strong first moto, Long earned his best overall finish of the 2026 Pro Motocross season, further validating the progress he has shown over the past two race weekends.
The weekend’s results was made even more meaningful following the recent announcement that Carson Mumford has re-signed with the team for the 2027 season. With the continued partnership now secured, the podium finish provides an exciting glimpse into what the future holds as the team continues building toward even greater success.
